EPS provide Pre-Lay Survey for pipeline/cable laying Contractors immediately prior to the commencement of pipeline/cable installation. In pre lay survey, the towed geophysical sensors similar to a route survey; the only difference is that the corridor of the pipeline route is wider, in order to cover the lay barge anchor pattern.
The purposes of the Pre-Lay Survey are:
- To provide confirmation of geophysical data (seabed bathymetry) and existing pipeline/cable positions.
- To identify (hazardous) debris deposited or exposed since the route survey was undertaken.
- To provide further investigation of previously noted debris.
